Hotel Chocolat Bahrain is taking shape...

Today's post might not mean much to non-HC folk, but if you've ever visited one of our splendidly beautiful stores :-)) here's some insight into how they get that way:

That little black square on the white wall, just beyond Costa's beige wall - that's us!

Here we are close up. The hoarding is not like our snazzy UK ones, but this is the first time we've done a store overseas so the artwork is more of a photocopy! Let's take a sneaky look inside...

Excuse me, is it ok to go in there without a hard hat? Yes, yes, my dear. Come in, come in. Mind that wire. Try not to breathe in the dust.

Ooooh! It's all in there. All our empty fixtures looking, well, empty. But they're there. And they look just like they're supposed to! You have to give credit to the guys here who have worked from small materials samples and design drawings, and come up with almost an exact match of our UK shopfit. That's pretty good going.

Here's Diya, the Project Manager. He's Egyptian, but he's been in Bahrain for 30 years. I've been driving him nuts for the past 6 months asking for design drawings and photos. I'm getting them tomorrow, of course. Insh'allah! A lovely, lovely man.

This one's for the HC-dedicated. The fixed and the variable wall fixtures. You'll enjoy them much more when you see them loaded with giant slabs, Purist bars, Lovely Little Things and gorgeous, gorgeous Liquid Chocolat. Whose mouth is watering already? And you can't even see it yet! A prize if you can tell me why the Cocktail Sleekster won't be making an appearance on this particular fixture?

That's all for tonight. Tomorrow we'll take a look around the shopping mall. Good night all.

  1. Lynn,

Great seeing the 'behind the scenes' of this store. In answer to your question about the Cocktail Sleekster - is it because of certain alcohol restrictions? Just guessing!? :)
